The inaugural United Nations of Footy parade was held on 26 January, 2018 as part of Australia Day.

The event saw people from many different communities marching together on Australia Day in Melbourne, wearing their national Australian Rules Football jumpers, to celebrate both our diversity and harmony.

Wearing these jumpers is a strong symbol that – although we come from many different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures – we are all Australians.

20 multicultural communities were represented on the day, including Australia, Belgium, Botswana, Chile, Cuba, Finland, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and Wales.

It was a huge success and our goal in 2021 is to double the number of communities represented from 20 to 40.
