What is Footy 9s?
Footy 9s is an exciting and dynamic new version of Aussie Rules football. Footy 9s has been developed by AFI to allow Australian Football to be played on rectangular fields throughout the world – removing the barriers that have prevented our great game from becoming truly international.

What does AFI do?
AFI’s role is to grow and promote Footy 9s both internationally and within Australia, with a focus on community development. Our long-term aim is to secure the inclusion of Footy 9s in the Olympic Games.

What is the cost?
For players competing in the Adelaide 9s the Tournament Registration fee is only $95. Your tournament fees cover the substantial costs of running the event, which include venue hire, event management, insurance, first aid, umpires, footballs, trophies & medals, photographers and filming. Our major aim is to ensure that all players, teams and officials enjoy a fantastic day!
