What is the date?
The Australian Football World Cup will be held in Melbourne on Sunday 6 September, 2020.
Where is the venue?
The venue is Fawkner Park, South Yarra.
What is the format?
All matches will be mixed (men & women) and non-contact. Apart from the footy, there will be cultural performances, plus music and food from around the world. It will be an amazing day!
How many players per team?
Each match will consist of 9 players on the field, plus interchange players. You can have a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 15 players in your squad. All teams must have a minimum of 3 females in the squad.
How many teams will participate?
12 teams from Melbourne’s multicultural communities will participate – including teams from North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific.
Am I eligible to play?
To be eligible to represent your country of origin, players must meet one of the following criteria:
1. he/she has ancestry e.g. born in the country or has a parent or grandparent born in the country which he/she is representing, or
2. he/she can demonstrate a significant link to the country e.g. marriage.
Is there a minimum age?
Players must be a minimum of 15 years old to participate.

Is there training before the tournament?
Yes, training takes place every Sunday at Gosch’s Paddock, Punt Road, which is the footy oval next to AAMI Park (the soccer stadium) in the city. Richmond train station is close by. Training is held every Sunday from 10.30am to 12.00pm.
Do I have to attend every training?
No, just come to training when you are available and keen to have a kick! You will receive excellent coaching with each session consisting of a warm-up, skills and a friendly non-contact game.
