Team Malta competed in the inaugural World 9s in Melbourne in 2019.
The Crusaders made their debut at the 2016 Harmony Cup. Their debut was a great success, defeating the highly fancied Lebanon on their way to finishing third. In 2017 they went one better, reaching the grand final against Italy.
